Prisoner's dilemma and clusters on small-world networks

چکیده
The structure of interaction plays an important role in the outcome of evolutionary games. This study investigates the evolution of stochastic strategies of the prisoner’s dilemma played on structures ranging from lattices to small world networks. Strategies and payoffs are analyzed as a function of the network characteristics of the node they are playing on. Nodes with lattice-like neighborhoods tend to perform better than the nodes modified during the rewiring process of the construction of the small-world network. © 2007Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Iterated Prisoner’s Dilemma on Alliance Networks
The objective of this paper is to clarify the characteristics of alliance network that Japan belonged to after the World War II. On that alliance network, which Japan belonged to after the World War II, iterated prisoner's dilemma game will be played.
متن کاملSmall-world Structure in Children’s Featured Semantic Networks
Background: Knowing the development pattern of children’s language is applicable in developmental psychology. Network models of language are helpful for the identification of these patterns. Objectives: We examined the small-world properties of featured semantic networks of developing children. Materials & Methods: In this longitudinal study, the featured semantic networks of children aged 1...
متن کاملEmergence of Super Cooperation of Prisoner’s Dilemma Games on Scale-Free Networks
Recently, the authors proposed a quantum prisoner's dilemma game based on the spatial game of Nowak and May, and showed that the game can be played classically. By using this idea, we proposed three generalized prisoner's dilemma (GPD, for short) games based on the weak Prisoner's dilemma game, the full prisoner's dilemma game and the normalized Prisoner's dilemma game, written by GPDW, GPDF an...
متن کاملInvasion and expansion of cooperators in lattice populations: prisoner's dilemma vs. snowdrift games.
The evolution of cooperation is an enduring conundrum in biology and the social sciences. Two social dilemmas, the prisoner's dilemma and the snowdrift game have emerged as the most promising mathematical metaphors to study cooperation. Spatial structure with limited local interactions has long been identified as a potent promoter of cooperation in the prisoner's dilemma but in the spatial snow...
متن کاملRobustness of cooperation on scale-free networks under continuous topological change
In this paper, we numerically investigate the robustness of cooperation clusters in prisoner's dilemma played on scale-free networks, where the network topologies change by continuous removal and addition of nodes. Each removal and addition can be either random or intentional. We therefore have four different strategies in changing network topology: random removal and random addition (RR), rand...
